Xavier and I were able to go visit Uncle B in Colorado Springs. He deploys next month to Iraq (for those of you keeping track, that's the 4th tour in 9 years). The weather was amazing and beautiful. Our last day there was a bit windy, but all the other days were bright, shinny, and about 35 degrees. We were able to go to Ft Collins for a day and visit one of my friends. (Ali, we enjoyed our cookie and are so proud of the amazing job you are doing there at Braden!) Unfortunately, we pooped out tired before being able to see Jeremy.
We went up to Horsetooth Resevoir, so that Xavier "could be on the mountain with his feet." He was excited that we go our shoes all muddy! I don't think he would have ever left! (He must be related to adventure man Uncle B)!
We spent and afternoon at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Amazing. It's built to scale up the mountain. It's truely one of the best zoo's I've ever been to. We also drove through Garden of the Gods, X fell asleep in the car so he missed it.
Uncle B got sick while we were there, but we still had a great time. I loved being able to spend ever minute with X (except for the 0500 wake ups). He loved the airplane rides and told EVERYONE in the airport about how he was riding 2 (showing 2 with his fingers) planes.
We had a lot of fun and we are sure going to miss Uncle B. We're already planning our next visit to Co Springs for when Uncle B returns! Come home safely Uncle B!
